The former deputy commander of NATO and former British general Sir Alexander Richard Shirreff has risked his reputation by publishing the claim that the West is on course for war with Russia.
In his book — 2017: War with Russia — Shirreff argues that events in Crimea have destroyed the post-Cold War settlement and set the stage for a conflict that could kick off as soon as next year.
